Weighing options for a design, recording the trade-offs here.

Common pitfalls:
1)Microstrip radiates and is easy to tune, but the effective permittivity is hard to predict without field solving.
2)Stripline is fully shielded and has a well-defined impedance, at the cost of layers and via transitions.
3)For anything above a few GHz with tight EMI requirements, stripline or grounded coplanar usually wins.
4)GCPW is a good middle ground: mostly shielded, tunable, and only needs one adjacent ground layer.

Obviously it depends on the constraints.
