RF front-end for AR glasses - size vs performance?

AR glasses leave almost no room for antennas and front-ends, yet need WiFi, Bluetooth, and sometimes cellular. What did you sacrifice first - efficiency, band coverage, or coexistence margin?

AR glasses RF is a volume and coexistence problem first; something always gives.

Typical sacrifice order we hear:
1. Efficiency / match: antennas live next to batteries, displays, and metal hinges; you take a few dB and make it up with duty cycle and MCS backoff.
2. Band coverage: drop fringe bands or rely on one radio for "good enough" roaming rather than full worldwide cellular.
3. Coexistence margin: Wi-Fi / BT / cellular share a tiny volume; time-domain scheduling and notch filtering often beat another millimetre of isolation you do not have.

Report what failed first in wear tests (desense, detune on face, battery life), not only free-space efficiency. Share which links are mandatory (BT audio vs Wi-Fi video vs cellular tether) - that usually sets the honest priority list.
